A Campbell's Soup Chicken Dinner

Last night I tried out a recipe from a new cookbook, Campbell's Classic Recipes, the Paprika Chicken with Sour Cream Gravy. It wasn't hard and took just over 30 minutes to make!

Ingredients
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground red pepper
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 tablespoons butter
1 can of cream of chicken soup
2 medium green onions
1 container of sour cream

Method
Mix together in a measuring cup the flour, garlic powder, black pepper and red pepper. Once mixed pour out on plate. Coat the chicken on both sides with the flour mixture.

Heat the butter in a skillet over medium to high heat. Once the butter is melted, add the chicken and cook until the chicken is browned, about 10 minutes. Then remove the chicken.
Next, pour the soup and sliced green onions into the pan and heat until the mixture boils. Then put the chicken back into the pan and heat until the chicken is cooked through well, about another 10 minutes. Finally, add in the container of sour cream, mixing well, and heat for a couple more minutes before serving.

I served this meal over rice with a side of green beans, and it was delicious! I will definitely try this meal again!

Happy Cooking,
Courtney

  1. Hey that looks a lot like my grandma's chicken paprika! Although we served it over traditional Czech dumplings (knedliky). Yours looks delicious!

    Thanks for sharing!
