A Camping Adventure

Hello and Happy Monday! Mr. Firefly and I just got back from a wonderful camping adventure. It was our first camping trip by ourselves and, boy, did we ever learn a lot. I never really understood how much preparation went into a weekend getaway. I have a lot of respect for my parents now. They were always so prepared and we always had everything we needed. I would have to say that our next camping trip we will be a bit more prepared.

We started by borrowing a lot of camping supplies from my in-laws. They had the perfect tent for us and lots of dishes. As well as the very important Colman Stove. A few trips to Canadian Tire and we were all set.

Or so we thought.

Apparently it is important to make a list when you are packing, as well as when you pack the car. We left quite a few things at home. For example, we packed a bag of non-perishable food like coffee, sugar, salt, chips, potatoes. We forgot to pack that bag into the car.

I have now made a "Master Camping List" that I will share with you. My plan for next time is the print off two lists. The first one I will check off as I pack things in the house. The second I will check off as I pack things into the car. We did have an amazing time and we can't wait to camp again very soon.

Happy Crafting,

PS: Here's where we link up.

  4. Great idea for the camp list. I also make a food list so I don't forget the toppings like cream cheese for bagels, dressing for a salad etc. I also have a camp box with the basics like dishes, pots and pans etc.
When looking at your list I notice many things I need to add. I did notice you forgot a can opener:)
A must have. Thanks for your list it will be very helpful for our next trip.
